Kelly Zhou - Hygienist
Kelly pursued dental hygiene after she received a Bachelor of Science degree from UBC. She became a registered dental hygienist in 2010 and has been working in clinical practice ever since. She loves chatting about food, travel, and children. She loves to eat but doesn't exercise.

She grew up with the most gentle and lovely dentist who instilled great values in her. She has carried these values throughout her career, building personal connections with her patients, providing them a comfortable and relaxing experience. Kelly established Happy Gums Dental Hygiene Clinic, offering more affordable and high quality care to her patients.
Karen Lee - Hygienist
With over 25 years of experience as a dental hygienist, Karen brings a wealth of knowledge and skill to her patients’ care. Her background is in supporting complex cases of gum health care, braces and teeth straightening, tooth restoration and replacement, and oral myofunctional therapy. The mouth is indeed a portal to the body.
Karen believes strongly in personalized patient-centered preventive care and is continually inspired by the amazing healing that takes place in the mouth and body. Her goal is to support every person in their oral health journey. She is known for providing dental hygiene care that is gentle, thorough, compassionate and educational.
Outside the clinic, Karen enjoys being healthy, spending time in nature, walking, hiking, playing and sharing good food with family and friends. She is honored to serve the community alongside Kelly and the wonderful team at Happy Gums Dental Hygiene Clinic.


Sharlene Huynh - Hygienist
Sharlene graduated from Vancouver Community College in 2021 and began working as a dental hygienist while she finished her degree at the University of British Columbia to become a dental hygiene practitioner. She aims to support the health of her patients by providing thorough and educational oral hygiene care. Empowering her patients to manage their oral health is one of the most rewarding parts of her job.
Outside of the dental office, Sharlene enjoys staying active at the gym or playing sports. She also enjoys taking her dog out for walks and spending time with friends and family.
Maggie Chan - Receptionist
Maggie was born in Hong Kong and later moved to Vancouver. Before joining Happy Gums Dental Hygiene, she spent 15 wonderful years as a flight attendant with Cathay Pacific. She loves meeting people and always aims to provide gentle, patient-focused care that leaves every visit a pleasant and memorable experience.
In her free time, Maggie enjoys cooking and crocheting, and during the summer, she loves going on hikes with her husband and children.
